Job Summary:
HD Supply is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead facility maintenance operations at our Lakeland, FL distribution center. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, facility safety, and operational efficiency while driving continuous improvement and maximizing productivity.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, experience managing maintenance teams, and a commitment to operational excellence in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Facility Operations:
- Oversee daily maintenance, repair, and installation of facility equipment to ensure uninterrupted distribution center operations.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance strategies to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Maintain warehouse equipment, facility infrastructure, and operational systems to support efficiency and productivity.
- Evaluate maintenance, production, and quality reports to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Vendor & Contractor Management:
- Source, evaluate, and manage contractor bids for facility repairs and maintenance projects.
- Select and oversee external contractors, ensuring compliance with company standards, safety requirements, and project expectations.
- Manage maintenance resources and expenses to support operational and financial objectives.
Safety & Compliance:
- Promote a safety-first culture by ensuring adherence to company policies and operational standards.
- Conduct facility and equipment inspections to identify potential hazards and maintenance needs.
- Support distribution center safety, physical security, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, coach, and develop maintenance associates to build a high-performing team.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback, technical training, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure required technical certifications and training are completed and maintained.
- Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Typically 7+ years of relevant experience in maintenance, facility operations, or a related field.
- Experience leading maintenance teams in a distribution, warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of facility maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Experience managing contractors, maintenance budgets, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Relevant technical certifications may be required.
- Advanced education may offset some experience requirements.
