Job Summary:
The Delivery Driver Assistant is a reliable and customer-focused transportation professional assisting our delivery drivers with the safe and efficient delivery of customer orders. This role supports all aspects of the delivery process, including loading/unloading products, communicating with customers, and ensuring all safety procedures are followed.
Note: This is a non-driving position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with delivery drivers to ensure safe, accurate, and timely deliveries.
- Inspect product prior to loading to confirm order accuracy and condition.
- Assist with loading and unloading merchandise, using both powered and manual material handling equipment.
- Make customer calls before and during delivery to coordinate delivery timing.
- Provide proof of delivery and address basic customer inquiries or concerns.
- Escalate customer issues to distribution center leadership when needed.
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience through professional and courteous interactions.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 0–2 years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a warehouse, delivery, or logistics environment.
- Knowledge of shipping/receiving processes, purchase orders, invoices, and delivery documentation.
- Familiarity with cargo securement practices.
- Prior experience as a delivery helper or assistant.
- At least 1 year of experience operating material handling equipment.
